Originally named as Nissan S30, Datsun 240Z belongs to the first generation of Nissan’s iconic Z GT series of two-seat coupes. Datsun 240Z History
Yutaka Katayama who was president of Nissan Motors USA was the person who introduced 240Z in 1970. The mission behind this was to fill the market gap for small sports cars inspired by British manufactured 1500 Fairlady roadster that was considered a success.
Later on, Nissan manufactured its own 240Z called as S30 Fairlady Z in America. When released in the market, it was sold at a starting price of $3526 in 1969 – a very much fair price at that time.
